Who We Are

CS Thomas Construction is a custom home builder with a relentless dedication to customer satisfaction. Located in Bluffton, SC, CS Thomas builds exclusively in Palmetto Bluff. The company is owned and operated by the Thomas brothers: Scott, Craig, and Matt. Having been born and raised across the river in Savannah, the Thomas brothers possess a wealth of local knowledge of the Lowcountry lifestyle and the beautiful architecture that draws people to the area.

Each member of the CS Thomas team has extensive experience in the construction industry, many with more than 25 years of experience. By combining this experience and talent to form a cohesive team, we have become recognized as one of the area’s best builders.

Our People

Craig Thomas

Founder & Partner

Craig is often the first point of contact between CS Thomas Construction and the client. He maps out the building process and tries to gain a clear understanding of how people intend to use their homes. Learning what’s important to a client is crucial if CS Thomas is to help bring their home to life. Craig’s own love of family, children and the outdoors helps advance this understanding.

Scott Thomas

Founder & Partner

Scott’s greatest satisfaction from the success of CS Thomas Construction comes from being able to share with other people his love for home building. Through rewarding relationships with clients, CS Thomas becomes part of people’s lives. Scott guides clients through the process of making their vision of home a reality. The results are lasting, and this means a lot to Scott.

Matt Thomas

Partner

Matt’s experience ensuring the quality and consistency demanded by large commercial building projects became an important ingredient when he joined his brothers at CS Thomas Construction. Matt’s strong grasp of materials and timing results in consistent quality and a reliable process that fosters comfort for our clients during the construction process, as well as their satisfaction with the final product.

Gina Jones

Selections Coordinator

Gina guides our clients through selecting the details that complete their home, from the roof to the floors and fixtures. She is especially adept at helping clients translate the vision they have in their heads into the choices that define a home.

Leroy Mervin

Construction Superintendent

The job site is the focus for Leroy, and his eyes are often the first to see it in the morning and the last to inspect it at day’s end. What those eyes bring to the site is a rare combination of business sense, construction skill, and relentless work ethic, byproducts of Leroy’s degree in business administration, and decades of work as a carpenter.

Kerry Harley

Construction Superintendent

Kerry is a third-generation carpenter and has been a builder since he started helping his dad on job sites at age twelve. He’s done just about every job that can be done on a job site, and those experiences yield respect and understanding that shows up in the quality of both his work and his character.

Brad Riley

Construction Superintendent

Throughout the building process—from groundbreaking to turning over the keys—Brad represents the client’s voice. He assembled an impressive body of work before joining CS Thomas Construction. His life demonstrates the value Brad places on family, and that helps him understand even more deeply what our clients want for their families from home.

Virginia Jarosz

Executive Administrator

Virginia grew up in a home where any given family outing might begin or end with a visit to a job site. She simply has construction in her veins and has never been away from it for long. “Get it right the first time,” was among her dad’s most memorable instructions. As our documentation expert, Virginia ensures that estimates and budgets are grounded in real data and experience.

Darin Nelsen

Construction Administrator

Darin is a musician who hails from New Orleans but has been a Lowcountry resident for more than 25 years. It may be that being a musician accounts for the harmony he brings to the CS Thomas Construction building process. Thanks to Darin’s attention to detail and instinct for seeing where things fit, information and documents get where they need to be. And his enthusiasm for technology means IT solutions at CS Thomas rarely rely on outside vendors.

Our Values

The most important element of any business transaction, especially in what will most likely be the single greatest transaction in one’s life, is trust. Although we won’t build a house for every person we meet, we want to instill trust through every interaction we have. We do business the old fashioned way—we do what we say we are going to do—and take great pride in our work. We strive to create trust and to deliver the house of our clients’ dreams every time.

  • WORK HARD. Anything worth having is gained through hard work. We put everything we have into our clients’ homes because of the value we place on the sanctuary of our own homes.
  • PURSUE EXCELLENCE. The people in our lives deserve our very best; anything less and we have failed. We strive to be good spouses, parents, friends, citizens, and working professionals.
  • FAMILY FIRST. The importance of family is reflected in our company name: we are the Thomas brothers. Our parents worked hard and sacrificed much to raise six children. We inject the lessons we‘ve learned from them into our business every day. So we don’t take the name on the door lightly, because it’s not just a company name.
  • BALANCE. Work is an important thing, but it’s not the only thing. We love the Lowcountry and the accompanying lifestyle, so when we’re not on a job site or in the office you can find us with our spouses, kids, friends, and dogs. We’re fishing, hunting, and reading bedtime stories.
